Large Bee / Insect Hotel

Designed to be an attractive focal point hanging on any wall, tree or fence, made from locally sourced Larch, Ash and Douglas Fir.

Our modern design Bee / Insect Hotel uses an ancient Japanese architectural technique that was used to preserve wood by charring the surface with a hot flame called Shou Sugi Ban. This is done on the main body of the Hotel to help preserve it naturally using only heat to char the surface bringing the woods own resins and oils to towards the surface, making it resistant to weather and insects.

The top section is a removable fully functional Bee hive for many verities of Bee to build a comb, this version comes with two sections for Mason Bees and a general insect section filled with Pine cones hand picked from our walks in the woods of Leicestershire.

The roof is made from from Douglas Fir and painted in a water based paints to be as eco friendly as possible.
